Greetings from Jones Bay Cottages on Pelican!

Thank you for your interest in renting an up-north cabin and for checking out our site. Jones Bay Cottages on Pelican has been providing guests with summertime fun and memory-making experiences since 1922. Originally named Jones Bay Resort, Clara and Charlie Jones built several cabins spanning the shorelines of both Pelican and Little Pelican Lake to provide fun-filled summertime experiences for guests. In 1971, Millie and Clyde Wetrosky moved from Iowa to take over the resort, aptly renaming it Hawkeye Resort. In May, 2021, Erin and Steve Herman became new owners, now calling this quaint gem Jones Bay Cottages on Pelican.

Our Location

Located in the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area, Pelican Lake is one of the larger lakes in the area as it covers 8,300 acres. The maximum depth of Pelican is 104 feet, with the most common fish caught in the lake being bluegill, northern pike, walleye and bass.
